The 5th USA Science & Engineering Festival, the largest and only national science festival, features nationwide contests and school programs, including our popular ‘Nifty Fifty’ science speaker program and X-STEM Symposium. The Festival will culminate in a free Grand Finale Expo on April 6-8, 2018 with Sneak Peek Friday kicking off the weekend. More than 350K+ attendees will celebrate science at the Expo, and engage in activities with some of the biggest names in STEM, hear stories of inspiration and courage, and rock out to science during our incredible stage show performances.
The College of Science will host a table at the festival with experiments showcasing science concepts to attendees.
The College of Science announces a research colloquium specifically for undergraduate research students. Participating students will present a poster at the 2018 Undergraduate Research Colloquium, which is open to the university community.
The purpose of this event is to showcase the variety of undergraduate research projects in the College to other students and to faculty in four categories Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth Sciences and STEM Learning & Education. If you are a student engaged in undergraduate research at any level in any academic unit within the College of Science you are encouraged to participate. This year’s event will feature a student poster session, student keynote address, and awards.
Students, use the tabbed sections below to register your poster, submit an abstract and view poster details. If you would like to be considered for the keynote address, please indicate that when you submit your abstract.
This event is FREE of charge for all Mason students, staff, and faculty. Refreshments will be served and monetary awards are available.

Please join us at the 5th Annual Fairfax County Elementary and Middle School Science and Engineering Fair organized by Pinnacle Academy and College of Science, George Mason University. Pinnacle Academy’s curriculum includes a heavy STEM emphasis and encourages students to think of learning material in context to real world applications. Annually, Pinnacle Academy students participate in a variety of academic competitions and a school-wide science fair. In collaboration with the STEM Accelerator at COS, Pinnacle Academy created this opportunity for elementary- and middle school students to share their projects on a larger scale and initiated this regional fair.
