Dr. Ramin Hakami Receives $600,000 Grant to Combat Anthrax


Ramin Hakami, associate professor of molecular and microbiology and infectious diseases within George Mason’s School of Systems Biology, has received a two-year $600,000 National Institutes of Health grant for research on fighting anthrax infection. The research has the potential to quickly eliminate the potentially fatal effects of anthrax toxins while also tagging the anthrax bacteria itself for destruction.
