Virtual Student Foreign Service Program

The Virtual Student Foreign Service (VSFS) harnesses the expertise and digital excellence of U.S. citizen students to move the work of their government forward on multiple fronts. This upcoming year will be the third year MapGive is participating in the VSFS program. Partnering with student volunteers to increase the amount of maps for humanitarian initiatives, as well as providing training, and involving students in other projects the aid the U.S. State Department’s Humanitarian Information Unit.

The average time that is expected on a weekly basis is between 3-5 hours a week. We accept a mix of applicants that either have Geospatial training or have no experience. We start the program off assuming everybody is new.
