Term Assistant Professor/Instructor, Geography

The George Mason University, Department of Geography and Geoinformation Science (GGS) in the College of Science invites applications for a Term faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Instructor scheduled to begin with the Fall 2019 semester. Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will teach core and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, participate in outreach activities, and advise undergraduates in our successful academic programs. The typical workload is teaching the equivalent of four courses per semester and performing service activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in geography or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience at the college level;
  • Undergraduate student advising experience;
  • Online teaching and course development experience;
  • The ability to teach human and physical geography courses; and
  • The ability to teach introduction to geoinformation systems.
