Description: The Leidos Geospatial Programs Business Unit has a career opening for a Software Developer located in Alexandria, VA.
The job of the Software Developer is to work as part of a development team supporting a Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technology (MERIT) program. This program provides research and development funding to develop prototype capabilities for the DoD tactical community. The ideal candidate will work with a small team to develop new techniques for visualization and streaming of 3D imagery.
-Will develop source code and applications, interface closely with DoD users during BETA testing, resolve integration issues through coordination with outside vendors.
-Contribute to development of documentation and training material.
-Develop test procedures and participate in testing and bug fixes.
-Candidate with expertise in a specific area may be made responsible for that portion of the project schedule.
-Project is a research and development initiative and requires a candidate with creativity in applying complex technical principles to satisfy project requirements.
-Will perform integration development and testing of the software.
-Perform through communication, documentation, and team skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

The Geospatial Programs Division is seeking an experienced software developer to design and develop applications at our Alexandria, VA office in support of a wide range of DoD missions. The Geospatial Programs Division is growing to meet the needs of our customers with offices in Alexandria, VA, and Seattle, WA, as well as personnel working on-site at customer facilities.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated learner able and willing to delve into new technologies/languages as needed; demonstrate strong systems integration and testing skills; and be able to work independently and cooperatively with project staff at multiple locations. The position may require work on multiple projects over the course a month’s time. The developer is required to interface verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff. Tasks includes working with project staff to design, write, test and document custom applications, integrate custom applications into software suites, create graphical user interfaces and assist with systems engineering tasks, as needed. Pay commensurate with experience and capabilities.
