Internship at USAID

Project Description
The USAID Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) needs your help in adding data for the most vulnerable communities around the globe. The countries and regions OTI works in are often data-deserts. With little information to go on, it’s difficult to create valuable products to help inform decision-making.

With OpenStreetMap (OSM), the wikipedia of maps, data can be added, extracted, and analyzed illuminating parts of the world that have not yet been mapped at such a fine scale. By interning on this project you will become experts at adding spatial data, doing open-source research, validation and in the humanitarian/development’s community use of OSM. Interns will also get the opportunity to help improve tools that help other mappers add data to OSM.
