GEOINTegration Summit – Call for Student Submissions
September 27-28, 2019
It is a pleasure to invite you to submit your work to the first annual GEOINTegration Summit. This conference is organized by the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) and will take place in Herndon, Virginia on September 27 – 28, 2019.
The GEOINTegration Summit will convene academia, industry, and government representatives to explore advances in GEOINT education and professional development. The conference will also identify challenges faced by stakeholders and propose solutions in addition to discussing generational shifts and innovation. A particular interest of the academic community is the evolving nature of the GEOINT tradecraft and its limited accessibility to many faculty, students, and researchers due to the often-classified nature of the intelligence profession—hence this year’s theme, “From the Classroom to the SCIF.”
This is a call for students to submit their work for consideration in three different capacities: a student panel discussion, a poster session, and virtual or in person lightning talks. Your research should be strongly grounded in GEOINT, however may relate to any of the fields that make up the GEOINT community, including geography, GIS, remote sensing, data science, environmental science, engineering, among others. In order to be considered for participation in one of these events, you must submit:
- Current resume
- Proof of completed work on the topic you will present on (can come in form of paper, poster, or presentation you have presented in the past)
- Abstract (maximum 250 words)
The deadline for submission is Monday, August 19th, 2019. Please send your submissions to Christine MacKrell at firstname.lastname@example.org. In your email, please indicate that you accept your resume (including contact info) being shared with USGIF industry/government members for potential on-site interviews during the Summit. Selected students will have the cost of conference registration waived and more importantly will have the chance to benefit from participating in this unique meeting of leaders from the academic, industry, and government GEOINT community.
We look forward to receiving your submissions for the GEOINTegration Summit. For any questions, please contact Christine MacKrell at email@example.com or (703) 793-0109 x103.
