On November 18, 2016, Joseph Harrison, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “A General Social Agent-Based Model of Opinion Dynamics With Applications To Stem Education And Radicalization.” Dr. Harrison’s committee members were Drs. Claudio Cioffi, Kenneth de Jong, Matthew Hendrey and Arie Kruglanski.
Joseph Harrison earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Utah State University and an M.S. in Computer Science from George Mason University. He has a broad range of professional experience including coding data loggers at Global Tech Inc. and WaterLOG, and creating user interfaces for robotic vehicles at Autonomous Solutions Inc.
His research interests include agent-based modeling, opinion dynamics, GIS, evolutionary computation, path planning, etc. In his spare time, he works on his band’s new album.
