Computational Sciences and Informatics – Best Doctoral Dissertation Awards

The Department of Computational and Data Sciences proudly announces the Best 2015-2016 Computational Sciences and Informatics Doctoral Dissertation. The award recipients are:

Dr. Phillip Hess – In recognition for his outstanding dissertation research entitled “Understanding the Evolution and Propagation of Coronal Mass Ejections and Associated Plasma Sheaths in Interplanetary Space.”

Dr. Lijue Wang – In recognition for her outstanding dissertation research entitled “A Nurbs-based Computational Tool for Hydrodynamic Optimization of Ship Hull Forms.”

These recipients will receive their awards at the Department’s Graduation celebration to be held on May 11, 2016.
