New Optional Practical Training (OPT)Regulations*

What does this mean for Mason students?

* F-1 academic students who receive science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees and who receive an
initial grant of 12 months OPT may apply for a 17-month extension
for a maximum of 29 months OPT

* To be eligible for the 17-month OPT extension, a student must have
received a degree in one of the following Science Technology
Engineering and Math (STEM) fields:
o Computer Science Applications
o Life Sciences

This is a full time position which includes answering the phones (approximately 100 calls per day per person) triaging calls and questions to the appropriate individuals, and scheduling appointments.
