College Facilities Master Plan Underway

Over the past three months, the firm of Perkins + Will has been assisting George Mason University and the College of Science to develop a Facilities Master Plan for multiple projects across campuses for the next 6-10 year funding cycle.  The College Facilities Master Plan process is examining teaching and research models that will support the Strategic Plans for the College and University.  The outcome of this effort will be an outline of future building projects (including Science and Tech 1 & 2 and the addition, Belmont Bay, Prince William leased space, the BRL, and others).  The final report will includ the College’s recommended space prototypes for teaching and research, as well as strategies for strengthening the College community and supporting future growth.

The Steering Committee is excited about the new process and encourages all faculty and staff to become involved.  A new blog is being set up for direct participation.
