The mission of CIDR is “To develop and evaluate diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines to counter the threat of bioterrorism and newly emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases.”
The Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR) is a research center at George Mason University that focuses on microbiology and infectious diseases. The Center for Infectious Disease Research is a college-level research center, with participating faculty across the College of Science who are engaged in Infectious Disease Research, as well as across Mason, supporting the graduate students in the Microbiology and Infectious Disease concentrations within the PhD, MS and BSc programs.
The center supports faculty and graduate students who are engaged in research in this field, with the goal of promoting excellence in research and productive collaborations in Infectious Disease at Mason.
