Geography and Geoinformation Science

 The GGS Department in the College of Science is an interdisciplinary academic unit, with research and education emphases on geography and the science of the tools facilitating a better understanding of the physical earth and the human dimension (GeoInformation Science). The Department emphasizes the use of powerful scientific tools to observe, quantify, and analyze the Earth and its various phenomena resulting from physical and human processes at multiple geographical scales.  Degrees include a B.S. or a B.A. in Geography and a B.S in Global and Environmental Change, M.S. in Earth Systems Science, M.S. in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences and  Ph.D. in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Science, along with certificates in GIScience, in Remote Sensing and Earth Image Processing, and in Geospatial Intelligence.
