The College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Science invite nominations for the 2008 Awards for Scholarship. The awards are given to a faculty member from each college whose recent scholarly work is of special significance. Through this honor, we recognize two of our outstanding scholars and also call attention to the value of the scholarly activities in which we are all involved.

• The award winners are chosen on the basis of work published in the past three years. The body of work for which one is nominated should have played an important role in the advancement of the particular area of study or discipline and should establish or solidify the researcher’s national and/or international standing among one’s peers.
• Recipients of the Celebration of Scholarship Awards will be honored at a reception in October, 2008 and receive a $2,000 award.

Nomination letters should address the criteria above and are due by April 15, 2008.
