Rene Salas

Rene is an audit partner with over 20 years of public accounting experience. Rene is the leader of the Mid-Atlantic Area Life Science practice for Ernst & Young and serves on the firm’s Global Biotech Strategic Advisory Panel. Rene works exclusively in the life science industry where he specializes in comprehensive accounting and auditing services. He has developed expertise in serving both start-up and public life science companies, in handling merger and acquisition transactions, and in serving large multilocation companies. Rene has acted as the lead accountant on several initial public offerings and secondary offerings in the local biotech market.

Rene has served on the steering committee for the MidAtlantic Bio Conference and is a member of the George Mason Life Science Advisory Panel. As the firm’s Mid-Atlantic leader in life sciences, he has presented on the firm’s behalf at numerous biotech conferences, including the BIO Investor Conference.

Prior to transferring to the Washington DC area, Rene co-led Ernst & Young’s life science practice in Texas.

Rene earned a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
